about

Babou Diébaté and Me improvising on a music given by the spirits.

The artwork, by the painter Madouba, shows the myth of origin of the griots. Two brothers, the older one cutting off his own finger and giving his blood and flesh to the younger one in order to save his life from famine.

According to the myth, the younger brother told the story and became the first griot.

This design was created to re symbolize the myth to signify the brotherhood that exists between Babou Diébaté and Me, and our mission to create a new type of griot. A "Dialy du monde".
